Small Acts, Global Impacts

Small Acts, Global Impacts

It is easy to forget how a small act for the environment can end in global change towards good. Much like throwing a stone into water, your fashion choices can create ripples that extend throughout the world.

We at Blem Beach Accessories have curated a range of beautiful, high quality shorts that are made out of 10 plastic bottles to help you make your stand for the planet and assist in reducing plastic waste.

It generally isn’t a single moment, rather a combination of moments where you perceive the scale of the plastic waste pandemic. For me the moment that lingers most was on a surf trip in South East Asia. I was paddling through the water and every stroke was met with a new piece of plastic hitting my arm. Yet after this I started to notice the same problems wherever I would go. Whether it was empty food packets on the side of the road or piles of plastic bottles around the beach, it was scary.

I asked the question: why does all this waste exist and how did it become such a problem? I came to the conclusion that because of how cheap and easy plastic is, especially for businesses, a mindset has been allowed to form that ease and cheapness outweigh impact.

So, how can we address such a vast and seemingly insurmountable problem? How can my actions influence an issue that affects every corner of the globe? How do we shift people’s perspectives?

My father has always told me that “If you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way. Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”

This message resonated with me for a long time. Where could I start? How can I get those bottles out of the ocean? How can I make sure future generations get to see the beauty of the ocean at its fullest?

“Small Acts, Start Global Change”. I found my starting point.

My love for the ocean fueled my passion. I began to think of ways to repurpose plastic as a force for good. I wanted to create a statement, where someone could wear an item that shows their willingness to fix the issue. Further I wanted to provide an avenue for people to throw their first stone that can make ripples globally.

I'm excited to introduce to you a platform where we can unite in the pursuit of sustainable living through ethical fashion. The Blem x Ramatuelle swim shorts are made of recycled plastic bottles helping to reduce plastic waste and keep our oceans pristine.

These shorts not only promote eco-friendly living through their innovative fabric but also ensure quality and longevity. By choosing these shorts, you are making a conscious decision to consume fashion responsibly and avoid contributing to the overproduction of waste in the industry.

As you make decisions about what to wear or buy this summer, remember that small steps, like choosing our sustainable swim shorts, can make a more significant impact on this crisis than you might imagine.

“Little drops of water make the mighty ocean.”
